UTAH SALES TAX INFORMATION

If your puppy stays in Utah or is transferred to you within Utah (including at Utah airports), we are required to collect 7.25% sales tax.

According to the Utah State Tax Commission:

“Sales tax must be collected on the total sales price of the animal and any other items sold. Sales to out-of-state customers are nontaxable. However, if the animal is transferred in Utah, the transaction is taxable — even if the buyer intends to take the animal out of state.”

To avoid Utah state sales tax:

  • Have the puppy delivered to you out of state (via us, a flight nanny or a friend)

Why are you called Destination Doodles?

At Destination Doodles, all of our dogs are named after destinations that hold special meaning to our family. Whether we use the full name or a nickname, each one is inspired by a place that’s important to us.

We also believe our puppies are destined for you. We’re simply honored to play a role in the journey that brings them to your loving home—their ultimate destination.

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Yes, we offer a 1-year health guarantee against life-threatening and genetic illnesses, which is included in the contract. We also extend the guarantee to 2 years if the puppy is fed a high-quality dog food of your choice. (We can provide recommendations, or your vet can assist with options that are best for your puppy’s health.)

Do you recommend training?

Absolutely! Puppy training is essential, and believe it or not, it’s often more about training the owner than the puppy! While we lay a strong foundation for potty training, crate training, and socialization, a fully trained puppy at 8-9 weeks just isn’t realistic.

However, we make sure our puppies are exposed to a variety of situations, sounds, textures, and experiences to help them adjust to their new homes. We highly recommend continuing their training with a professional puppy trainer. Whether you choose a class or in-home training, it’s essential for the puppy's success and your long-term relationship. Puppies thrive on routine, and a positive training approach is key.

Trainer Recommendations:

  • Baxter & Bella (Online courses with lifetime support. Use code destinationdoodles for a discount, making the course around $170).
  • Zak George (YouTube and books)
  • Cornerstone Training (Puppy Training Principles podcast on Spotify)

Training will help you build a trusting relationship with your puppy and help them grow into a well-behaved, happy dog!

How often do goldendoodles and cavapoos need to be groomed?

That depends on the look you want for your puppy. Personally, we like our dogs to have the teddy bear cut and about 1/2" to 3/4" coat. To maintain this, we have our dogs groomed every 6-9 weeks. Between professional groomings, we bathe them every 1-3 weeks. We also brush and comb them at least twice a week to prevent matting—this usually takes less than 5 minutes. Our dogs enjoy it, and we sometimes brush them longer just because they love it so much! Additionally, we use a puppy wet brush a few times a week to keep their coats looking fluffy and fresh. We also trim their eyes as needed between grooming appointments.

Do we need to Spay/Neuter our puppy?

Yes, our puppies are only sold on a spay/neuter contract and must be spayed/neutered by 15 months of age.
